About the Author

Hi, my name is Monique, and I write fiction under the alias Clarke Collins (and Ciggy and N. Mahana and well, you get the idea, right?). Anyway, fiction’s not all I write, I had a fleeting foray into entertainment journalism. The results, not as fun. But who needs that, when one resides in the Midwest with three eccentric teenagers? Not I. That would be a lie. Aside from being inspired by my witty clan of demiurgic teenyboppers , I’m also influenced by an array of influential writers and artists from Toi Derricotte to Salvador Dali. And trashy romance novels, if I’m being honest. But am I? See, to me, being a keen observer of art in all its forms, helps me diversity my writing style. Geesh! That came off as pretentious. You don’t really want to know about my influences and writing process, do you? Nah! You want to know the good stuff! Like, where you can buy my books?

Well…um…let’s see, I have several projects at various stages of development. Translated to, I haven’t finished a damn thing yet, but one very rejected manuscript that I’ve been revising for say, four years now. No. I’m not broken up about that. Not really. I haven’t given up. At least, not yet. I hope to have my first publication out sometime later this year. If not, there’s always next year and the year after that and the year after…In the meantime, feel free to poke around my website and be sure to subscribe to my newsletter before you go. It will keep you updated on my upcoming book release and other important events. Until then, happy reading!
